This course has been approved for 6.0 CEUs by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers #A-811-04, the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners #NV11-0521CE, the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Marriage and Family Therapists #CEU110805007, and the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors #2010-8. This course also meets the continuing education requirements of the State of Utah's ‘Social Worker Licensing Act Rule' (R156-60a-304) and ‘Marriage and Family Therapy Licensing Act Rule' (R156-60b-304).

Course Description: Upon completion of this course, you will gain an understanding of ethical issues as they impact practice, become knowledgeable of the principles specific to ethical decision making and issues related to boundaries and confidentiality, and be able to identify ways in which to reduce liability. The course is designed to be similar to a ‘live' workshop as activities include interactive discussions on ethical dilemmas presented in several case problems. Within the 15 day period, there are several days to complete activities to meet the six hour requirement for six continuing education units. The class is "asynchronous" meaning that participants complete the activities at their pace and don't have to be on-line at a specific time.
