From The Director

ThompsonThe UNLV School of Social Work provides a wide range of educational experiences for students entering the ever-expanding field of social work. Located in one of the fastest growing regions of the country, students obtain their BSW and MSW degrees and are able to work in a variety of settings, including child welfare, mental health, criminal and juvenile justice, gerontology, domestic violence, health care, community development, policy practice, and research. Our graduates are engaged in direct practice, program development and administration, and public advocacy.

The School is located on a beautiful urban campus with more than 25,000 students and 140 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Social work students can pursue either part-time or full-time study. Graduates from accredited BSW programs are also eligible for Advanced Standing. If you are concerned with matters of social justice, and want to make a difference in peoples’ lives and your communities, we invite you to consider the social work profession as a rewarding and valuable career.
